The RST (Rally Sport Truck) trim level was first introduced on the Tahoe and Suburban Chevrolet SUV models, adding premium brakes, suspension and a 6.2L V8 engine option that was already equipped on the Silverado 1500 at the time. With that, it was obvious that an RST trim was a necessary option for the Silverado 1500.

The Silverado 1500 RST trim level is similar to the LT model, although there are differences that make it really stand out. The RST can come with a 6.2L V8 engine, where the LT model cannot. The RST comes standard with LED fog lamps, heated front seats, remote start, black bowtie emblem and more. The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST model is available as a 2WD crew cab with short bed, or as a 4WD model with available double cab with standard bed or crew cab with short or standard bed.

The 2021 Silverado 1500 RST engines include:

Standard: 2.7-Liter Turbo engine with 310 HP at 5600 RPM and 348 lb-ft at 1500 RPM. Available: 5.3-Liter EcoTec3 V8 with Dynamic Fuel Management* that gets 355 HP at 5600 RPM and 383 lb-ft at 4100 RPM. Available: 3.0-Liter Duramax Turbo Diesel I-6 engine with 277 HP at 3750 RPM and 460 lb-ft at 4100 RPM.

Available (4WD model only): 6.2-Liter EcoTec3 V8 engine with 420 HP at 5600 RPM and 460 lb-ft at 4100 RPM.

Message on Active and Dynamic Fuel Management systems: *As of June 14, 2021, GM has announced that Silverado 1500 engines produced after March 15, 2021 will not be equipped with Active Fuel Management or Dynamic Fuel Management due to a global shortage of semiconductor material required to make this technology. Some Silverado 1500 trucks produced before March 15th will be retrofitted to exclude AFM & DFM in order to speed up distribution to dealerships.
